Earl Ferris Cale

Earl Ferris Cale, 93, of Masontown, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 19, 2015, at Preston Memorial Hospital.
Earl was born on November 29, 1921 in Masontown; a son to the late Alva Foster and Gertrude (Mayfield) Cale.
Earl was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II from 1942 until 1945 when he was honorably discharged as a Corporal. During his life, Earl worked very hard in the family timber, sawmill, and trucking businesses. He also worked as a custodian for West Virginia University. He attended the Sturgiss Chapel United Methodist Church in Masontown. Earl will forever be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father, uncle, cousin, and friend.
He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Ruby Viola (Greathouse) Cale, whom he married on September 30, 1944; one daughter, Diana Lea Molisee and husband David, of Masontown; one sister, Nina Huggins, of Masontown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Ralph, and Percy Cale; and one sister, Alta McClure.
Friends will be received at the Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 6-8pm, and again on Friday, January 23, 2015 from 11am until the time of the 1pm funeral service in the funeral home's chapel with the Reverend G.E. McCabe officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Masontown where full military honors will be accorded by the Preston County VFW Honor Guard, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 977, and the West Virginia Army National Guard Honor Detail.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Earl's memory to the West Virginia University's Children's Hospital, 1 Medical Center Drive Morgantown, WV 26506.
