Thelma "Jane" Smith Obituary

Thelma "Jane" Smith, age 87, of Gladesville Road passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 in Morgantown, WV. She was born October 5, 1936, at Reedsville, a daughter of the late Ray James and Carrie Beatrice (Keefover) Turner.

Jane and her husband Bill operated the family farm. She loved gardening, flowers, and cooking for family and friends. No one ever left her home hungry.

She is survived by: her husband of 71 years, William Charles Smith;  two sons: Baron Smith and Byron Smith; 3 daughters: Linda and (Rich) Fassett; Cynthia and (Mike) Dinger; Jaynie and (Carey) Riel, and one sister, Dorothy Gibson; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by five brothers: Leslie , Bernard , Francis , Kermit , and Mason Turner ; two sisters: Leah Stone and Gladys Sapp; and granddaughter Kelly Pitzer.

Friends may call on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville, from Noon until 2:00 PM, the time of Funeral Services with  Mike Logan officiating. Interment will follow in the Gordon Cemetery.
