Frederick Foster Joyce 78, of Reedsville entered into eternal rest on Friday December 28, 2018 from his home. He was born February 29, 1940 in Alexandria, VA a son of the late Frederick Samuel and Helen LaNora (Jones) Joyce. Fred served in Vietnam with the Marine Corps and later with the US Army as a counter sniper. He was a deputy sheriff in Palm Beach County Florida, worked for Wackenhut security at the nuclear power plant in Port St. Lucie ,FL. Fred moved to DC where he headed the federal court security and prisoner transport and later worked security for Bank of America, before retiring to West Virginia. Fred was a big fan of “#3” Dale Earnhardt, he was a member of the American pointer club and assisted friends and family training, showing, and breeding pointers. Fred is survived by his brother James B Wagner of Reedsville; his granddaughter Kelly Wilson and her husband William; stepchildren: Michael McDaniel in FL; Cindy Cicero and her husband John in NC; and Lori McDaniel in FL. In addition to his parents Fred was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Ann and his son David. Friends will be received at the Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. where Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. with the Rev. David D. Spence officiating. Graveside military services will be 1 p.m. on Friday January 4th at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton.
