Paul Strahin

Paul Luther Strahin, 91, of the Rohr Road, Masontown, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Windy Hill Village with his loving family by his side.
He was born on November 25, 1922, in Kingwood, a son of the late B.F. and Suzanne (Moore) Strahin.
Paul served in the United States Army during World War II with the 168th Infantry Division. He was a decorated veteran and was awarded several honors including the Purple Heart. Paul retired from Consolidated Coal Company after twenty years of service at Pursglove 15.
Paul is survived by his only daughter, Carolyn Sue Strahin; three step-children and spouses: Betty Readd, and Edward and Rose Gibson, of Masontown, and Clyde and Martha Gibson,of Kingwood; eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Melvin Blosser, of Bretz and a sister-in-law, Patty Blosser, of Kingwood; nephew, Roger Blosser and niece, Brenda Strahin, whom he helped raise and several other nieces and nephews.
Paul was the only surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Oleda (Blosser) Strahin; brothers, Charles and Harry and his twin brother, Daniel (Silas) Strahin; and a sister, Anna (Lizzy) Strahin.
Friends will be received at the Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville on Sunday, June 29, 2014 from 4-8pm and again on Monday, June 30, 2014 from Noon until the time of the 1pm funeral service in the funeral home's chapel with the Pastor Damon Nicholson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, off of the Rohr Road, in Masontown.
Full military honors will be accorded by the Preston County VFW Honor Guard, Preston County Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 977 and the West Virginia Army National Guard Honor Detail.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Windy Hill Village for the special care they gave to "Paul-Paul" and also to Amedisys Hospice Care.
