Roger Dale Blosser

Roger Dale Blosser 67, of Bretz entered into eternal rest on Thursday June 30th at Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 27, 1948 in Morgantown, a son of the late Melvin and Marie (Collins) Blosser.

U.S. Marine Corp veteran Roger Blosser served in Vietnam. He retired as a Staff Sergeant from the 201st Artillery of the West Virginia Army National Guard at Camp Dawson after 21 years; he was deployed for Desert Storm. He then worked at Pine View Lanes in Reedsville where he was a mentor of the Preston county Youth Bowling Leagues. Roger also worked for 13 years at Sheetz in Morgantown. He was an active member of Preston county VVA #977 and VFW Post #1589 in Masontown where he served on the Funeral Honor Detail for Veterans of Preston County for many years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Roger loved to hunt, fish, and the outdoors. Roger lived with his aunt Oleda and family, aunt Geraldine and family, and Melvin and Helen and family until he married at the age of 24.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Karen (Lowdermilk) Blosser; 4 sons: Roger D. Blosser, Jr. (Leslie), Timothy L. Blosser (Roxanne), Jamie P. Blosser (Richard Moniger), and Patrick G. A. Blosser (Brandy Davis); 5 brothers: Rick Blosser, Donald Cale, Rev. Larry Cale (Donna), David Cale, Rick Cale (Danelle); 5 sisters: Brenda Strahin (James), Kim Kisner (Anthony), Terrieny Moats (John), Roseanne Whetsell, and Ruth Ann Martin (John); 5 grandsons: Dustin, Bryson, Jacob, Andrew, and Zack; step-granddaughter Alexis; 2 step-great granddaughters Taylor and Chelsea; sister-in-law Carolyn Cale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepmother Helen Cale-Blosser; 2 brothers: Melvin Charles Blosser and John Cale; and son-in-law David F. Mayfield.
Funeral services which honor Roger's Patriotism, Monday July 4th, 2016. Presiding: Elders Robert and Paul Bolyard. Interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Full military honors by the Honor Guards of US Marine Corp., WV Army National Guard, Preston County VFWs, and Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 977.
