Sandra Sue Dalton 78, of Reedsville known by many as simply Sam, went home to be with Jesus on March 9 2018, from Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born on February 23, 1940 the daughter of James and Virginia Murray. Sandra worked as a painter with West Virginia University for over 30 years until her retirement. She was Pentecostal by faith. Sandra enjoyed going to yard sales, planting flowers, and singing gospel songs with her Sisters and friends. Sandra was an avid collector of many things but salt and pepper shakers were her preference.
Sandra had a spunk, charisma, and humor that were evident to anyone around her. Perhaps her most positive attribute was her ability to give. Sandra gave freely and whole-heartedly. This was apparent with time and love she gave to her children and grandchildren. Her love and laughter will truly be missed by all. From day one Sandra was born a fighter and she remained a fighter until the end.
In addition to her parents, Sandra is preceded in death by her husband Cecil Weldon Dalton of Reedsville; Brother, Ronnie Murray; Sister, Bonnie Friend.
She is survived by her 6 children, Cecil Dalton Jr. of Reedsville, Janet Dalton and husband David of Morgantown, Kevin Dalton and wife Kathia of Las Vegas, Debbie Metzger and husband Jason of North Carolina, Ricky Dalton of Reedsville, David Dalton and wife Autumn of Las Vegas; Brothers James Murray, Jerry Murray, Scotty Murray, Larry Murray; Sister Shirley Murray, as well as, 13 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville Sunday, March 11th from 10 am until the 11 am funeral service with Rev. Elmer Nicholson officiating. Burial will be at Morgan Memorial Park. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to WV Caring Hospice and WVU Hospital nursing staff.
