Steven E. Lockwood

STEVEN E. LOCKWOOD 56, of Kingwood passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Heartland of Preston County. He was born June 11, 1959 in Waco, TX a son of the late Shirley Joyce (Lockwood) Schenking.
Steve grew up in Boone County, WV and graduated from Glenville State College with a BA in Education. After teaching school for one year, he began work at Albright Power Station in 1982 and later transferred to Fort Martin in Morgantown. He worked for the power company for 33 years, most recently as maintenance superintendent. He attended the Pisgah United Methodist Church in Bruceton Mills, WV. Steve was an avid outdoorsman and will be greatly missed by his hunting and fishing buddies. He enjoyed teaching others about the joys of outdoor recreation and most of all loved doing this with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Melissa (Rowan) Lockwood of Kingwood; two daughters Brittany Metheny (Zack) and his granddaughter Reese of Bruceton Mills and Katelyn Pifer (Adam) of Morgantown; one brother James" Bo" Lockwood (Bonnie) of Yorktown, VA; and his stepfather Roger Schenking of Sylvester, WV. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Timothy, and his grandparents, Earl and Flora Lockwood. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Friends will be received at the Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville, Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 2 - 8:00 pm and in the Reedsville United Methodist Church Friday, September 4, 2015 from 12 - 2:00 pm before the funeral service at 2pm with Pastors Tim Wotring and Stephen L. Wotring officiating. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Kingwood.
