HARRY "DINK" TRICKETT

Harry Dale "Dink" Trickett 85, of Arthurdale passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 3rd, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 30th, 1929 in Independence, son of the late William Jacob and Emma May Trickett. Dink was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers working on the construction of Interstate 79 and the PRT's. He was a member of The United Mine Workers of America proudly working as a surface miner for Patriot Mining at King Knob Coal. He was known as one of the best machine operators, called upon for help long after he retired at age 65. Dink enjoyed caring for his lawn & spending afternoons with his wife on the front porch. He had a great love for his family & friends especially hunting with his son & grandsons. He was a proud spectator at all of his grandchildren's sporting events and all the grandchild say, "Pap could fix anything." He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years Madeline Trickett his daughter Connie Jo Marshall of Morgantown, his son Brian Dale Trickett & wife Denise of Independence, 3 grandchildren Dr. Thomas Marshall & wife Deidra of Morgantown, Brian Trickett Jr. & Brandis Trickett both from Charlotte, NC, great grandchildren Ava & Andrew Marshall, 3 sisters Opal Martin of Kingwood, Evelyn Brown of California & Grace Bennett of Cumberland, MD. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Nellie Riley, Tiny Metheny, & Mildred Zeigler, 5 brothers: twins Ray & Gay, James, Homer, & Robert Trickett.
The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Cynthia Clarkson, Amedisys Hospice and Home Care of Morgantown & Father Andrew Switzer.
Friends will be received at the Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville on Tuesday September 8th, 2015 from 12 until the 2:00 pm Memorial Service with Father Andrew Switzer as celebrant. Private inurnment in the Masontown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Catholic Churches of Preston Co., 322 E. Main Street, Kingwood, WV 26537.
