Lela was very active in the community over the years; having been a member of 4-H, Reedsville United Methodist Church, and a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was a woman of many talents and hobbies. She loved winter sports such as ice skating, cross country skiing and hunting. She also loved summer activities which involved hiking, bird watching, fishing, gardening, and bee keeping. She loved to make quilts and cook, and she was an amazing marbles player.
