Alberta Pearl Lyons, 92 of Independence, WV passed away at Windy Hill Village Wednesday, January 16, 2013. She was born July 31, 1920 in Gladesville, daughter of the late James and Pearl Rogers Trickett. She graduated from Newburg High School in 1938 and also attended the Gladesville and Independence Baptist Church. Alberta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and even a great-great grandmother. She was a homemaker and loved gardening and spending time with her family. Surviving are five children, Robert Lyons and wife Mary, Catherine McGee and husband Robert, Patricia Deal, Donna Nutter and husband Bill, Debra Stevenson and husband Arnold, nine grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; one brother, Ralph Trickett and wife Shirley; one sister, Margaret Phillips. In addition to her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Dwain Lyons in February 4, 2005; two grandsons, John Lyons, Christopher Nutter; one son-in-law, Larry Deal; three brothers, Charles Trickett, Robert Trickett and David Trickett; one sister, Hazel Sobol. The family wishes to thank the staff at Windy Hill Village and Hospice Care for the wonderful care that was given to their mother during her eight year stay. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Friday, January 18, 2013 from 2-8 pm, and Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 9 am until the service at 11:00 am with the Pastor Delbert Lyons officiating. Interment will follow at the Shay Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Alberta.
