Arbutus Louise (Lipscomb) Moran, 89, of Morgantown passed away January 24th, 2022, at her home. She was the daughter of Ervin and Lula Huffman Lipscomb. She was born in Cumberland Maryland on May 14th, 1932, attended Kingwood High School, and many years later obtained her GED. She worked as a nurse's aide at the Vincent Pallotti and Mon General Hospitals. She was widowed at the age of 42 and raised three children alone. She played the guitar and loved playing country and gospel music she also performed at many local shows where she yodeled and was well known for that Talent she is survived by her daughter Janis Mayfield (Mark) of Masontown, WV; son Alan Moran of Core, WV; two grandchildren Lisa Blosser and John Mayfield; stepchildren: Clarence “Buddy” Griffith (Martha) of Independence and Loretta Oleska of Fairmont; and many great-grandchildren; siblings: Robert Lipscomb, Shirley Snider, Donald Lipscomb, and Virginia “Jenny” Snyder, all of Morgantown, Ervin Jr of Newburg, Arthur, Larry, and Carl Lipscomb of Tunnelton, Phyllis Stewart of Fairview, Jerry Lipscomb of Farmington, and Joretta Stone of Kingwood. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Moran, in 1974, whom she married in September 1957, recently by a son Bobby Moran; sisters: Nancy Hines and Dorothy Williams; five stepchildren who loved her dearly; and four infant siblings.
Family and friends will be received Friday, January 28, 2022, at the Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville, WV, from 5 to 7:00 PM the time of services with Pastor Michelle Kennedy officiating. Burial will be at the Maplewood Cemetery in Kingwood at a later date.
