Betty C. Dodd

Betty C. Dodd, 86, formerly of Wilsonburg, passed away at Heartland Rehabilitation Center on Thursday, February 28, 2013. She was born in Marshville, WV on February 7, 1927, the daughter of the late Rev. Harry Watson and his wife Audrey Utter Watson. Mrs. Dodd is survived by six children, Roger Dodd of Marshville, Shirley Crock (David) of Wallace, Diane Griffith (Roy) of Bridgeport., Leon Dodd and Larry Dodd of Reynoldsville, and Freda Casto (George) of Wilsonburg; eighteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; one brother Harry Watson of Somerset, PA, one sister, Rosemary Roach of Marshville; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Dodd in 1988; two sons, Alfred L. Dodd and Robert R. Dodd; one grandchild, and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Lois Bibey. Mrs. Dodd was employed by St. Mary's Hospital and United Hospital Center for 27 years in the laundry department. She was a member of Ten Mile United Church of Christ near Marshville. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Friends may call at Greathouse Funeral Home in Salem on Sunday, March 3, 2013 from 2-8 PM where the funeral service will be held Monday, March 4 at 11:00 AM with Albert Farley presiding. Interment will follow at Hardman Cemetery on Gregory Run.
