Betty L. Litzinger

Betty L. (Kennedy) Litzinger, age 85, of Maple Ave., Grafton, passed away, Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born December 5, 1927, in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late A.B. "Brooks" Kennedy and Mary "Edith" (Cole) Kennedy. Her husband, Charles A. Litzinger, Jr. preceded her in death November 10, 1990, they were united in marriage June 14, 1949. Betty was a very faithful member of the St. Augustine Catholic Church, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family, and was an avid cat lover. Surviving are: five children, Kenneth K. Litzinger, Donna A. Tighe and husband John, Jeannie Stockett, Cathy Johnson and husband Henry, all of Grafton, Kimberly Latona and husband Philip, of Palmetto, FL; seven grandchildren, Jason A. Tighe and wife Alley, of Anmoore, Gayle A. Tighe, of Morgantown, Kristie Viher and husband Doug, of Vienna, WV, Bob Stockett and wife Janice, of Warren, MI, Benjamin Johnson and wife Wendy, of Clarksville, TN, Amber Rush and husband Ernie, of Thornton, and Ashley Finniss and husband Josh, of Yuma, AZ; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by: one sister, Doris Pauline Kennedy, in infancy; and one brother A. B. "Bud" Kennedy. Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Thursday, January 31st from 2-8 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM, Friday, February 1, 2013, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Fr. Jim O'Connor as celebrant. A vigil prayer service will beconducted Thursday at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at the WV National Cemetery.
