Billy "Bill" Gene Metheny

Billy Gene Metheny, 73, of Masontown, WV. passed away November 6th 2024,at Mon Health Medical Center. Bill Metheny is survived by his wife of forty-nine years Dixie Metheny, sister Wendy Cress, two children Billy Metheny Jr. (Tracey Nicholson) and Kelli Newcome (Shawn Newcome), five grandchildren Heidi Newcome (Tony Sinisi), Amber Metheny (Logan Compton), Kishia Metheny (David Mayle), Justice Metheny (Ivory Nelson), Tasha Newcome, and his two great-grandchildren Dawson Compton and Beau Compton. Bill is preceded in death by his parents William and Virgie (Rodeheaver) Metheny. Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed by not only his family but everyone who knew him. Bill worked many years as a truck driver and also worked on golf courses. Bill enjoyed many things in life such as working with his hands on his various crafts and vehicles, fishing, mowing grass, family trips to Harpers Ferry, WV and accumulating his many collections. He also enjoyed spending his time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who he loved dearly. Bill passed away peacefully at 8:44 am with a wonderful nurse by his side keeping him comfortable and calm. We would like to thank his nurse for being with him in his final moments and praying with him when we couldn’t. We would also like to thank Mon Health Medical Center for taking wonderful care of Bill in his final hours.

Graveside services officiated by his brother-in-law Dennis Smith will be Friday November 8, 2024 at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Masontown.
