Cameron Blaise Reed, of Kingwood, passed away on February 10, 2020, due to complications from a long-term illness.
Cameron was born on September 11, 2005 in Kingwood, WV, the first child of very excited parents. He was raised in Kingwood, attending Kingwood Elementary, and then moving on to Central Preston Middle School where he flourished as a student. Cameron loved school, especially Science and Math, and dreamed of becoming a Robotics Engineer, boasting that he just had the mind for it, like his gifts were not anything special, but somehow inherited from his dad. He had the goal of working with his dad one day.
Cameron loved art, he sketched constantly, and loved showing his sketch books, usually sketches of dragons, or his Minecraft blueprints, to anyone who would look. Cameron had an unmatched obsession with Lego, and often invented new and interesting robots or mini figures, amazing his parents constantly.
Cameron was a warrior, the bravest person his mom had ever met, as he dealt with the challenges that life threw at him. He never let them hold him back. Anything was possible. He was positive of who he was, a champion for what was right, and encouraged people to follow his example of individuality, frequently reciting his motto “Hey, Weird is a side effect of awesome”.
Cameron enjoyed the many weekly family traditions in his home, always reminding his family when it was time for ‘family worship’ or ‘family movie night’. He loved his God, Jehovah, and all the members of his congregation. He spoke of the hope in the Bible of seeing our dead loved ones again. It was real to him. It was important to him.
Cameron was always happy; and a genuinely good kid. Above all, he was loved. And he knew that. The sun will never shine so brightly again.
Cameron is survived by his heartbroken parents, Spencer & Beth Reed of Kingwood, WV; sisters, Laila & Gemma Reed; Grandparents, Kenneth & Laura Reed of Kingwood, WV; Lee Fisher of Conewango, NY; His bonus parents Stewart & Brittany Reed of Kingwood, WV, and Eric & Courtney Kahl of Bruceton, along with so many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Arrangements entrusted to Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville, WV where friends may visit on Friday February 14th, 2020 from 3 - 8:00 PM. Private burial will be in Pratt Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Kingwood Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 2pm.
