Clarence Trent

Clarence Trent, 101, of Clarksburg, WV, formerly of Greenbrier Community near Salem, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Clarksburg Care and Rehab where he has been a resident for several years. He was born in Ritchie County on March 8, 1911, one of eight children of Henry and Missouri Galdin Trent. Mr. Trent was married to Violet A. Dodd Trent who died in July 1990. He later married Marge Lawson Trent who passed away in 2003. He is survived by six children, David Trent of Florida; Betty Perkins and husband Ronnie of Salem; Patricia JoAn Leonard and husband Pete of Florida; Clarence Trent, Jr. and wife Debbie of Missouri; Steve Trent and wife Remonda of Bridgeport; Teresa Dawn Trent and husband Dave of Colorado; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Patty Cole; one son, Jerry Trent; six brothers and one sister. Mr. Trent served in the United States Army Air Corp and retired from Brockway Glass with 45 years of service. He was an active member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Family and friends may visit at Greathouse Funeral Home in Salem from 4:00-8:00PM Thursday, September 6, 2012 where funeral services will be held on Friday, September 7, at 12:00PM.
