Dennis E Hovatter

Dennis E "Dink" Hovatter, 61 of Shanks, WV, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012 in Maryland. He was born October 2, 1950 in Barbour County, son of the late Emmett and Mabel Channel Hovatter. Dennis worked at Valley Ready Mix as a truck driver for twelve years. He previously worked at Romney Concrete, the Budweiser Warehouse, Builders Service and Supply, and Maurice Jennings. He loved to work on his motorcycle and old classic cars. Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Diana Lynn Bowman Hovatter whom he married on December 5, 1975, two daughters, Chauna S Casteel and Robert, Grottoes VA, Lisa L Casteel and Kevin, Romney, WV; three grandsons, Shane E Casteel, Daryl T Casteel, Jacob A Casteel; one granddaughter, Kelli L Casteel; several nieces, nephews, and his favorite dog and traveling companion Shelby. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Hovatter and Durl Hovatter. Family and friends will be received at the Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, from 4 pm, Saturday, September 1, 2012 until service at 6 pm, with Reverend Sam Cline officiating.
