Dorothy J.(Henderson) Jennings, age 89, of Grafton, passed away Monday June 25, 2012, at the Valentine Personnel Care Home in Elkins, WV. She was born January 13, 1923, in Grafton, WV, a daughter of the late Wallace N. Henderson and Stella (Hendershot) Henderson. Her husband, Carl J. Jennings, preceded her in death June 8, 1978. She is survived by: one daughter, Karla K. Flores and husband Ernest, Elkins; two sons, Francis "Bud" Jennings, and wife Barbara, Ormond Beach, FL, and Randel "Randy" Jennings, and wife Katie, of Fellowsville; seven grandchildren, Brian Jennings and Devona, Spring, TX, Carl Richard "Rick" Jennings and Angie, Philippi, Joshua Jennnings and Lisa, Richmond, VA, Ryan Withers and Lydia, Huntington, Meredith Will and Josh, Austin, TX, Amanda Martin and Josh, Grafton, and Tim Jennings and Lana, Morgantown; six great grandchildren; and one sister, Catherine "Katie" Kuhn, of Ormond Beach, FL.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by three sisters, Sarabel Terhune, Lillian Engle, and Betty Oszust.
She was a member of the Church of the Covenant, a 1941 graduate of Grafton High School, a member of the Grafton City Hospital Aux., the Business Womens Club, and the Naomi Chapter # 12 O.E.S.
Dot loved spending time with her family, quilting, crocheting, making homemade candy, and watching her birds.
Friends may call at Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, on Thursday, June 28, 2012, from 3-8 p.m. Graveside service will be conducted at Woodsdale Memorial Park, at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 29, 2012, with Pastor Jacqueline Campbell officiating.
