Douglas “Doug” Stonestreet, 66, of Reedsville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday morning, September 10, 2023, on Grandparent’s Day. He was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in Clarksburg, November 28, 1956, a son of the late Clyde “Stoney” Stonestreet, Jr., from West Milford, and the late late Thelma (Allport) Stonestreet, from Martinsburg. Doug was brought up by his grandparents, the late Ardie and Helen Harbet, of Lumberport.
Doug served God faithfully and was a member of the Mill Chapel United Brethren in Christ Church in Reedsville. He was a 1976 graduate of Lumberport High School, and was currently employed by Preston County Public Schools as a custodian.
He is survived by: His wife of 44 years, Susan (Shaffer) Stonestreet. They were united in marriage June 23, 1979; two sisters, Anita Guesford, of Stevens City, VA; a half brother and sister, Brian and Cindy Allport, of Martinsburg; a half sister, Cheryl Taylor, Gypsy; half brothers, Clyde H. Stonestreet III, West Milford, and Clay H. Stonestreet, Clarksburg; his mother in law, Ellen Shaffer, of Reedsville; several brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews who he loved and adored.
At his request Morgan Funeral Home is handling cremation and is honored to serve the Stonestreet Family. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
