Elizabeth Ann Libicer of Lumberport, formerly of Fairmont, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 2012. Libby fought a year-long battle against cancer with courage and dignity. She was born in Fairmont on December 19, 1949, the daughter of Ann Sandora Libicer and Stephen J. Libicer, both deceased. She will be missed by her family and friends who wish her peace in her final resting place. She was a favorite aunt, devoted daughter, loyal friend and loving sister. Libby will be remembered for her sense of humor, lending help to those in need, willingness to listen and share a confidence and she touched many lives in ways too numerous to count. She graduated from Fairmont Senior High School in 1967 and was a 1979 graduate of Fairmont State College. She retired from the Veteran's Hospital, in Clarksburg WV in 1997. Libby's favorite activities were clogging, square dancing and line dancing. She enjoyed each of these activities and especially enjoyed the friendships she had with all of the dancers as a member of the Good Time Cloggers. She was a member of St Ann's Parish in Shinnston, and one of her greatest joys was helping to prepare and serve parish dinners. Libby is survived by her brother, Steve (Dodie) Libicer, Jr., of Franklin PA, and her sister, Margaret Libicer Cannon, of Camp Hill, PA, and by her very special friend of many years, John Starkey. "Aunt Libby" is also survived by Stephanie Libicer Berger of Edinboro PA, Renee Libicer of Polk PA, Stephen Richard (Michelle) Libicer of Las Cruces, NM, Amy Cannon (George) Lamont of Ft. Meade, MD, and Lisa Cannon (Dan) Wozniak of Ojai, CA. Also surviving are great nieces and nephews: Zane Berger; Baylee Libicer, Tony Ellis, Anna Fox; Garrett (Jessie) and Alec Libicer; Kathryn "Katie" Lamont. In keeping with Libby's wishes, she will be cremated. The family is planning a graveside memorial service in the spring at the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery in Shinnston WV. In lieu of flowers, friends and family who wish to donate in memory of Libby may do so by sending a donation in her name to the Lumberport West Virginia Volunteer Fire Department, Lumberport, WV, 26386.
