Francis Edward Ice

Francis Edward Ice 67 of Spelter passed away on Friday, August 17, 2012 at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare. He was born on February 5, 1945 in Clarksburg WV the son of the late Roy Elmer and Freda May Rector Ice. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Susan Lancaster Ice whom he married on February 26, 1965. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters: Kim Radabaugh and husband Clyde of Shinnston; Jackie Glaspell and husband Jim of Spelter; one granddaughter Amanda Lindsey and husband Justin of Lumberport: three grandsons; Richard Taylor; Justin Taylor both of Fort Smith Arkansas; Jimmy Glaspell of Spelter; three great grandchildren Aubrey Lindsey; Richard Taylor III, and Kristen Taylor; along with several nieces and nephews; three brothers James and wife Patty of Bridgeport; Albert of Boothsville and Clyde Ice of Wolf Summit. He was preceded in death by three brothers: Gene; Roy "Dump"; Russell "Buck"Ice; two sisters; Vicky Tichneor; Idabella Gordon. Francis was a U.S. Army Veteran, he was a member of the American Legion Post 31 in Shinnston and Faternal order of the Eagles: he loved to play poker, fish and spending time with his family. Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St. Shinnston from 2-8pm Monday. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday August 21, 2012 at 11:30am with Pastor Aaron Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery Pruntytown at 1:00 pm. Military graveside services will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, American Legion Taylor County Post #12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24, and their auxiliaries, and the WV Army National Honor Guard of Camp Dawson.
