Gerald Junior Hovatter

Gerald J Hovatter, 82 of Newburg, Scotch Hill Community, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Ruby Memorial Hospital with family by his side.He was born December 2, 1929 in Evansville, son of the late Floyd and Elsie Royce Hovatter. In his early years he worked at Republic Steel in Ohio, Aspen Tree Company, also was a coal miner and a truck driver. Gerald retired with 20 years of service with the Department of Highways. He attendant the Bethel United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Glenna J Soulon Hovatter, four children, Susan J Annon and Donald, Newburg, Steven R Hovatter, Morgantown, Clara I Lewis, Kingwood and Ann M Crowe, Brownsville, PA; four grandchildren, Wanda Maxwell and Richard, Newburg, Vance Annon, Newburg, Becky Bolyard and Steven, Thornton and Bradlee Annon, Homer City, PA; four great-grandchildren, Megan and Logan Maxwell, Cordell Bolyard, Jonathan Annon; one brother, Bill Hovatter, Evansville. In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Claude and Elmer Hovatter, one sister, Betty Bolyard. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave, Newburg, WV, from 2-8 pm Thursday, August 16, 2012, and from 9am until the time of service at 1pm on Friday, August 17, 2012 with the Rev.
