Howard C. "Pete" Clayton

Howard C. "Pete" Clayton of Clarksburg, WV, beloved husband of Martha "Deloris" Clayton, passed February 6, 2013 at Crestview Manor in his 84th year. He was born March 17, 1928 in Jeannette, PA; son of the late Thomas W. Clayton and Henrietta Esther Myers. In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Wendy Lynne Clayton of Lancaster, OH; Aletha Lea Clayton Gray of Morgantown, WV; son, Howard Lawrence Clayton of Utah; son-in-law Thomas C. Hay of Independence, WV; four grandchildren Lawrence S. Clayton; Claire F. Gray; Jessica M. Thomson, and Beryl A. Hay. In addition to his parents Pete was preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberley Ann Clayton; three sisters, Charlotte Fenton; Betty J. Clayton; Jean Menz; three brothers, Edward Clayton; Walter Clayton and Samuel Morris Clayton. Pete was a proud Navy Veteran that served in WWII. He spent 40 years of his life working for John Giese Consulting Engineers as a civil Engineer. He was a member of The American Society of Highway Engineers, America Society of Professional Engineers, and was an Assistant Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 8 for 24 years. Visitation Monday, February 11, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home; service Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 11:30AM in the Davis Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend David Hulme officiating.
