Jarvis Allen Andrews, 85 of Independence, WV went to be with the lord Sunday, January 13, 2013 at his residence with family by his side. He was born November 22, 1927 in Independence, son of the late Harold V and Cora Walls Andrews. Jarvis served in the US Army during the Korean War stationed in Greenland and Germany and was in the reserves for several years. He was a member of the Masontown VFW Post 1589 and the American Legion out of Charleston. Jarvis retired from Sterling Faucet as a maintenance worker with thirty four years of service. He loved farming, reading his bible, puzzles, deer hunting and going to the Terra Alta stock yard. He attended the West End United Brethren Church and was an assistant pastor for many years and was on the local radio ministering once a month on 96.7. Jarvis is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Shirley Jean Blaney Andrews, four sons, Stanley L Roby and Martha of Masontown, David E Roby, Robert L Andrews and companion Tina, and Dale A Andrews all of Independence; one daughter, Crystal G Casteel and Chris of Terra Alta; nine grandchildren, April, Becky, Steven, Katherine, Mary, Robert Jr., Kayle, Colton and Carson; three great grandchildren, Chole, Kaden and Dominic; two brother, Charles Andrews, Akron, OH and James "Jim" Andrews, Independence; one sister, Esther Brewer, Independence; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jarvis was preceded in death by four brothers, Virgil Andrews, Clarence Andrews, Clinton Andrews and John Andrews, and three sisters, Vida Sinsel, Cora Dunt and Gladys Belle Wolfe. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 2-8 pm, and Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from 9 am until the service at 11 am with the Pastor Sonny McNear officiating. Interment will follow at the Gladesville Cemetery.
