Rev. John Greaver Sr., 76, of Rt. 3, Clarksburg, WV (Glen Falls), went home to be with his Lord and Savior whom he loved on June 11, 2012, from the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV, following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 10, 1936 in Clarksburg, a son of the late Harry and Sarah May Hess Greaver. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 47 years, Austie Mae Furr Greaver, and five sisters, Waneta L. Greaver Snell, Virginia L. Greaver Holliday, Irene Maxine Taylor Moran, Aretta Katherine Wiseman, Eva Belle Moore Ferguson; three brothers, Charles Edward Greaver, James Harry (B0) Greaver, and Elmer Greaver; three great grandchildren, Josiah D. Greaver and Johnavan (Greaver) Chappell, and Meagan McIntyre. Surviving are one sister, Beulah (Greaver-Trader) Flint and husband Myron of Nutter Fort, his four children, Rev. John Greaver, Jr. and Wife Deborah of Clarksburg, Martha Jean Blake of Shinnston, WV, Elizabeth Ann Bartlett and husband Charles of West Milford, WV, Rev. Mark Greaver and wife Sherry of Clarksburg, WV, his second wife of four years, Rev. Mrs. Carole Greaver and four step children, Robert Dennison, Timothy Dennison, James Dennison and Amanda Davisson all of Clarksburg, WV. Surviving also are twelve grandchildren, John (JD), Amanda and Andrea Greaver, Melanie Rock, Jamie, Timothy and Andy Blake, Christy McIntyre, Samantha Bartlett, Melia Thompson, Josiah and Micah Greaver, and ten great grandchildren, one of which is Ethan Greaver, (Papaws side kick), and numerous nieces and nephews. Rev. Greaver was saved at the age of eight years old, and after school he was ordained as a minister in the Union Mission Conference in Buckhannon, WV, where he was a Pastor and Evangelist for twenty five years. In 1980 Rev. John Greaver and Rev. John W. Furr were led of God to organize, charter and copyright a Christian Conference known as the The Kingdom Heirs Baptist Church. It was to be built and organized upon the infallible Word of God and was a place where nobody was a stranger and a place where friends could join in fellowship and the freedom to worship God in Spirit and Truth! Rev. Greaver was a firm believer in the preaching of a Heaven to gain and a Hell to shun. He truly practiced what he preached and lived a life of sanctification unto his Lord and Savior, whom he loved with all his heart! Rev. Greaver also worked as a custodian for the Harrison County Board of Education at the United Technical Center where he retired as the Head Custodian with 22 years of service. Family and friends may call at the Davis Funeral Home, One Olen Thomas Dr., Route 98, Clarksburg from 2-8p.m. Wednesday, where services will be held Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 10:00a.m. with the Reverend Robert Bright officiating.
