Karen Maxine (Turner) Freeland, 79, of Morgantown, WV, passed away on February 14, 2025 at MonHealth Medical Center. She was born on April 17, 1945, a daughter of the late Les Turner and Mary (Bolyard) Turner.
Karen retired from the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 152, where she took pride in her work. She was affectionately referred to as “Grandma” by her co-workers. She had a great love for animals; especially her dogs and cats. She enjoyed going to the races and watching the Mountaineers and the Steelers.
She is survived by her 5 grandchildren, Sara (Brad) Hess, Derick Field, Jeff (Rebecca) Field, Jessica Otey, and Kristin Wolfe; 15 great-grandchildren, Nathan, Cole, Megan, Kadin, Jadin, Olen, Riley, Tayshia, Maliyah, Carson, Messiah, Ja’Niyah, SJ, Zayden, with one great-grandchild still on the way; one brother, Kenneth (Kay) Turner; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Turner; her special friend, Beverly Sheets; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter Cathy Field (2023) and Margie Wolfe (2025), as well as her brother, Ralph Turner (2024), Gene Freeland, and Dale Jolliffe.
Friends may call on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Morgan Funeral Home, (13411 Veterans Memorial Hwy, Reedsville, WV 26547), from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Services will be officiated by Marty Turner.
