Kells J Sapp, 89 of Newburg, WV, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Heartland of Preston County with family by his side. He was born July 15, 1923 in Newburg, son of the late Clay E and Sadie V Emerson Sapp. Kells was retired from the United States Navy with twenty-two years of service, serving during WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He also retired from Southern Ohio Coal Company, Martinka Mine in Fairmont. He was member of UMWA Local 1638, District 31. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and being outdoors. He was a handyman and could fix anything. Kells is survived by one daughter, Patricia J Bolyard and Carl Wayne of Independence, one sister, Mary L Grimes; nephew, Gerald "Jerry" Swearengen, Oakland, MD; niece, Karen Johnson and Frank, Kingwood and several great nieces and nephews; In addition to his parents, Kells was preceded in death by his wife, Reneita "Patty" Patricia Sapp in 2011, one granddaughter, Whitney Jean Bolyard on 2010, one sister, Frances V Swearengen, nieces, Mary Frances Swearengen and Linda Harris; nephew, James "Jimmy" Swearengen. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Monday, March 18, 2013 from 2-8 pm, and Tuesday,March 19, 2013 from 9 am until 10:30 am. Graveside service will be held at Damon Cemetery at 11:00 am with the Pastor Delbert Lyons officiating.
