Lynn M. "Bud/Skeet" Skidmore

Lynn M. "Bud/Skeet" Skidmore, 88, of Clarksburg, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2012 following an extended illness. He was born April 30, 1924 in East View, Harrison County the son of the late Boyd Ellsworth Skidmore and Lura I. Queen Skidmore. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Laura Jane Davison Skidmore in 2004. He is survived by one daughter Brenda Goodwin and husband Robert of Kingwood; one grandson; John Summers and wife Carol of Reedsville; one great granddaughter Kristen Summers of Morgantown; one sister; Dolores Jay of Columbia, SC and one brother; Robert Skidmore of Australia. He was preceded in death by two sisters Helen Colvin and Mary Skidmore. Mr. Skidmore was in the US Army and served in the Philippines during WWII and was retired as a glass worker from Adamston Flat Glass Co. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, yard sales, gardening, his cabin in Bemis, WV and winters in Florida, he just loved the outdoors. Family and friends will be received at the Davis Funeral Home, One Olen Thomas Dr./Rt. 98, Clarksburg from 2-8p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 where services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 12:00p.m. with the Pastor Art Malcolm officiating. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens where full military graveside rites will be conducted by the Harrison County Honor Guard.
