Mary (Davis) Wagner 94, of Masontown entered into eternal rest with family by her side on Thursday April 25, 2013 at Heartland of Preston Co. She was born on the farm near Masontown where she lived her entire life June 27, 1918 a daughter of the late George W. and Zella Mae (Neff) Davis. She was a lifelong member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at Herring. Mary along with her husband Jim were farmers. They raised and grew everything they needed to feed their family. They did everything together, they even enjoyed quilting. All the children, grandchildren and most of their friends were proud owners of one of Mary and Jim's quilts. Mary always had a garden big enough for a small town so she could share her bounty with everyone. No one ever left her home hungry and usually with some vegetables or eggs to go. Survivors include: two sons Wayne Wagner and wife Beckie, Randy Wagner and wife Sheila all of Masontown; two daughters Bonnie Wagner of Washington, PA and JoAnn Rowan and husband Bernard of Reedsville; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and her neighbors Warren and Carol Hovatter who checked on her everyday. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years James David Wagner; two daughters Lou Shakleford and infant Geneva Kay Wagner; four brothers O.D., Preston, Harry, and Arthur "Bud" Davis; and one sister Betty S. Kelly. Friends were received at the Morgan Funeral Home, Reedsville 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm on Friday April 26, 2013. Funeral services in the funeral home chapel were11:00 AM Saturday April 27, 2013 with Pastor Mike Harriman officiating. Interment followed at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Pleasant Grove Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 49, Reedsville, WV 26547.
