Philamena Pauline Andriotto, 87, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Evergreen Assisted Living. She was born on May 5, 1937, in Newark, New Jersey, to the late Frank DiLeo and Antoinette Taurosa DiLeo.
A graduate of Barrington High School, Philamena was known for her love of music, playing the flute in the Blue Jackets Jazz Band. She went on to have a fulfilling career as a librarian at the Irvington Public Library in New Jersey, where she spent more than a decade sharing her love of books and connecting with the community. Her favorite novel was Hawaii by James Michener, a testament to her love of rich stories and adventure.
Beyond her passion for reading and preserving books, Philamena had a deep appreciation for music and, above all, cherished time spent with her family. She was a true people-person, always eager to meet new friends and engage with others. Her warm spirit, kindness, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Philamena is survived by her two beloved children, Robert (Bob) Andriotto and wife Marsha, and Jeannie Groves and husband Michael, all of Morgantown. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Jason Andriotto and wife Jessica, Joseph Groves and wife Jamie Lee, Jamie Henry and husband Clint, and Krista Kisner and wife Cassie. She was a proud great-grandmother to Maddox, Oliver, Philomena, and Samuel. Additionally, she is survived by her two sisters, Mary Ann Mitwally and Jacqueline Reciniello.
In addition to her parents, Philamena was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Robert Andriotto, and her sister, Lucille Purdie.
Robert and Jeannie would like to express their gratitude for the staff of WVU Medicine Hospice and Evergreen Assisted Living for the kind and compassionate care of their beloved mother. Philamena’s legacy of love, kindness, and lifelong dedication to her family will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
