Pindle Junior Roth, 85, of Reedsville, WV, entered into the arms of the Lord, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, February 16, 2025.
Born on March 9, 1939, in Arthurdale, WV, he was the son of the late Owen Pindle Roth and Agnes Ardella (McGill) Roth. After 53 years of marriage, Pindle faced the heartbreaking loss of his beloved wife, Lois Colleen (Hartzell) Roth, but found comfort in his faith, knowing they would one day be reunited.
A dedicated and highly skilled masonry contractor, Pindle owned and operated Pindle Roth Masonry for 42 years. He took great pride in his craftsmanship, specializing in brick and block work. After closing his business, he worked for six years with March Westin before retiring.
Beyond his work in masonry, Pindle had a deep and unwavering faith. He attended Mount Vernon Nazarene College, earning a degree in ministry. Though he pastored a church in Morgantown, WV, he soon realized that his true calling was building the Lord’s kingdom—both spiritually and physically. Through his work, he helped construct churches across the United States and internationally, spreading the Gospel one brick at a time. His dedication to missions was evident through his involvement with the Nazarene Work & Witness program, which took him to Venezuela, Africa, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, and Bolivia to build churches and serve communities in need. His passion for the Lord’s work knew no bounds, and his legacy of faith and service will continue to inspire others.
In addition to his faith and work, Pindle had many interests. He was an avid antique car enthusiast, collecting six classic cars and enjoying membership in the Lincoln Club of New York. He also loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and was also a member of the Valley District Hunting Club.
Pindle is survived by his three beloved children: Gary Wayne Roth and his wife, Leslie, of Lakeland, FL; Brenda Lee Hovatter and her husband, Rodney, of Reedsville, WV; and Linda Dee Gibilisco and her husband, Chris, also of Reedsville, WV. He also leaves behind one cherished grandson, Joshua Roth and his wife, Jennifer, of Lakeland, FL, and his great-granddaughter, Madison Roth. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Sherry K. Friend, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ashley Lynne Roth; his brother, Bill Roth, and sister-in-law, Dorothy Roth; his sister, Theresa Roth, and brother-in-law, Leslie Lemmon; another brother-in-law, Clarence Friend; and two infant sisters.
Pindle’s life was a testament to faith, service, and love. His hands built more than just walls—they built places of worship, hope, and community. His dedication to the Lord’s work will continue to bear fruit for generations to come.
Pindle’s children would like to thank Amedisys Hospice Care for their compassionate support and care during their beloved father’s final days.
