Richard Bud Robinson

Richard Herman "Bud" Robinson, age 89, of W. Francis Street, Grafton, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Grafton City Hospital. Grampy Robinson was born August 6, 1923, the son of the late Wait Robinson and Tessie Clarice Brown Robinson. He married Peggy J. Shingleton Robinson on February 17, 1950. Graduated from Grafton High School and served in the US Navy during WWII and on the USS West Virginia Battleship. He retired from the First National Bank as a custodian and also from the Grafton Sentinel where he enjoyed working, he loved to work outside in his garden and many flowerbeds. Loved by his many dogs and loved working on his family history and heritage. He was the last surviving member of his family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by son, Joshua and wife Eva M. Robinson, of Grafton; daughter, Melissa A. Robinson and spouse Darcy A. Conaty, of Palmyra, NJ; Granddaughter, Tiffany A. Robinson and fiancé Charles A. Patterson, of Grafton; Grandson, Joshua S. Robinson and fiancé Kaitlin Merrill of Grafton; Granddaughter, Kaitlyn M. Robinson and Grandson Anthony R. Robinson, both of Grafton; Sisters-in-law, Ethel Robinson and Elenora Robinson, both of Grafton.
Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Edward J. Robinson, Thelma M. Robinson Chis, George "Jay" Robinson, Robert "Doc" Robinson, and Ralph C. Robinson.
Friends may call at the Bartlett Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 from 11AM until hour of service.
Memorial Services will be held at One o'clock on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Bartlett Funeral Home with Rev.Orville Wright officiating ,interment to follow at the WV National Cemetery.
Military graveside rites will be accorded by the VFW Memorial City Post #3081, the American Legion Taylor County Post #12, Central WV DAV Chapter 24, and their auxiliaries, and the US Navy.
