Rita Therese (Wolsiffer) Thorne

Rita Therese Thorne, 88, of Masontown, was received by her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at her son, Dean's residence. She was born on March, 24, 1933 in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of the late John Valentine and Lena (Staub) Wolsiffer.

Rita enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was an active member of St. Zita Catholic Church and Altar Society in Masontown, WV for many years.

Rita is survived by three sons, Donny Thorne (Betty Jean), Denny Thorne (Tammy), and Dean Thorne; one daughter, Darlene Hully; one sister, Sister Dorothy Ellen Wolsiffer; eleven grandchildren, Mandi Renee Thorne, Mickie Bauer, Krissy Bauer, Tommy Thorne, Danielle Hully, Dennis John Thorne, Donnie Thorne, Dylan Thorne, Johnathan Thorne, Holly Thorne, and Amanda Thorne; and thirteen great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Thorne; one daughter, Diane; one grandson Tommy; and two great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Morgan Funeral Home, in Reedsville, 6 - 8:00 PM, on Friday May 21st , where a Scripture Wake Service led by Deacon Arnie Lipscomb will be held. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Zita Catholic Church on Saturday May 22nd, 2021, at 10:00AM, with the Reverend S.A.
