Robert Harold Pill

Robert Harold Pill, 85 of Shinnston passed away Friday, May 03, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born August 17, 1927 in Adrian, WV the son of the late Walter and Viola Bowers Pill. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Shelby Stout Pill whom he married on December 7, 1965. In addition to his wife he is survived by one son Robert Kenneth Pill of Shinnston, one special niece, Kathy Ridenour husband Mike of Enterprise, one special nephew Burton Anderson of Harrisville, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by seven brothers: Leon, Jack, Tom, Max, Jim, Dick and Roger Pill; three sisters Margaret Clark, Ruth Jefferies and Mary Pill. Robert was a retired coal miner, for Southern Ohio Coal Company Martinka Mine in 1989; he also retired from the Spelter Zinc plant. He was a United States Air Force veteran, and was a member of the American Legion Post 31 in Shinnston. Family and friends will be received at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 2-8 p.m. Sunday May 5, 2013 and Monday, May 6, from 11-1 pm time of service with Pastor Deloris White officiating. Interment will follow at the Shinnston Masonic Cemetery.
