Robert Elwood Lipscomb, 86, passed away on Friday, January 6th, 2023 in Kingwood WV. Born February 18th, 1936 a son of the late Ervin Joshua Lipscomb and Lula Pearl Hoffman Lipscomb. He lived in Massachusetts for many years, and worked at the Laminated Paper Company.
He also lived in North Carolina until the death of his wife Allie Genell Livesay Lipscomb in 2004. He proudly served his county for 6 years in the Air Force.
Bob is survived by three children, Robert Clinton Lipscomb of NC, Nancy Catherine Polmatier of MA, and Connie Jean Morton and her husband Dennis of NC; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; five brothers: Larry and Carl Lipscomb of Tunnelton, Jerry Lipscomb, of Farmington, Arthur Lipscomb, of Kingwood & Donald Lipscomb of Morgantown; four sisters: Shirley Snider with whom he made his home, until she was unable, due to declining health, Virginia Snyder who was also a caregiver, Joretta Stone of Kingwood & Phyllis Stewart of Fairview WV.
He was preceeded in death by four brothers: Billy Ray, Dale Lee, Roy Allen and Ervin Lipscomb Jr.; four sisters: Arbutus Moran, Dorothy Williams, Violet Lavern Lipscomb and Nancy Hines; son, David Russell (Lipscomb) Shay; daughter, Rebecca Genell Bessonette and her son, Sean.
Family would like to thank the staff at Stonerise Kingwood for the wonderful care and compassion they provided especially they want to thank niece Maryanne Turner, and brother Arthur for being there with him in his last hours.
Friends may call on Wednesday January 11, 2023, at Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville, from 10 - 11:00 AM the time of funeral services, with Pastor Sonny McNear officiating. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Grafton, with full military honors, afforded by the honor guards of the Air Force, Preston County VFWs, and Vietnam Veterans.
