Roger Leroy Snell, 60, graduated to Glory on April 24, 2013 at United Hospital Center. Roger was a son of the late Lawrence Robert and Waneta Louise Greaver Snell of Hepzibah, West Virginia. He was never married. He was educated in Harrison County Public Schools and was a graduate of Victory High School with the class of 1971. He took Distributive Education whereas he attended school a half day and worked half a day. Roger was employed at Garden Fresh Super Market on Route 19 at Gore until his motorcycle accident. From 1966 to 1972, he began employment with the Clarksburg Exponent Telegram and distributed newspapers in the Hepzibah area and continued until his near-fatal motorcycle accident on November 12, 1972 which left him with a permanent head injury and wheel-chair confined until his death. He was born-again Christian and member of the First Kingdom Heir's Baptist Church and former member of the Hepzibah Baptist Church both of which are located in Hepzibah, Route 19 North, in Harrison County. Roger is survived by one brother, Lawrence Robert (Bob) Snell Jr., and his wife Clara May Yoak Snell of Lumberport, West Virginia. Four sisters; Mrs. Sarah Virginia Snell Lewis and her husband Kenneth Leroy (Bud) of Sardis; Mrs. Donna Marie Snell Farkas and husband William (Bill) of Mayfield Heights, Ohio; Mrs. Janice (Jannie) Monell Snell Carroll and husband Clifford (Cliff) of Hepzibah; and Mrs. Dorothy (Dottie) Young and husband Ed also of Hepzibah. He was preceded in death by his Parents Lawrence Robert Snell, Sr. and Waneta Louise Greaver Snell; one infant brother John Andrew Snell, and one infant sister; Carol Ann Snell; his maternal grandparents Harry and Sarah May Hess Greaver; his paternal grandparents John Erland and Florence Gertrude Deloe Snell, all of Clarksburg and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends will be received at the Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Rt. 98, Clarksburg from 2:00PM-8:00PM Sunday, where services will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, April 29, 2013 with the Reverend Mark Greaver officiating. Interment will follow at the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to thank Dr. Dubberke and his staff, United Hospital Center Staff, especially LeAnna who made sure Roger was well cared for. Special thanks to Amedysis in Anmoore, West Virginia for all the years of personal care, especially LuAnn Rozier.
