Ronald E "Ralphie" Shuman

Ronald E. "Ralphie" Shuman, beloved husband of Nancy Shuman, passed peacefully January 20, 2013 at his residence in his 66th year. He was born July 17, 1946; son of the late Clifford Brooks Shuman and Wilma Lee Metheny. In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Mel Roy Shuman and wife Anita of Augusta, GA; Clifford Brooks Shuman and wife Shannon of Clarksburg, WV; two grandchildren, Nathaniel Brooks Shuman; Nodia Marie Shuman; one twin sister, Mary Lou Shuman Hayes; one sister, Katherine Shuman Nicholson; nine nieces and nephews, Kim Nicholson Burt; James Nicholson; Ronnie Nicholson; Rocky Hayes; Michael Conley; General Conley; Henry Conley; Mary Conley; and Kathy Conley. In addition to his parents Ralphie was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Ann Shuman Conley; two brothers, Donald Lee Shuman and Clifford Brooks Shuman Jr. Ronnie was a former member of the West Virginia National Guard and had formerly attended the Church of the Nazarene. From 1968 - 1974 he was an asphalt inspector for the West Virginia Division of Highways. Ralphie worked at Williams and Robinson Run Coal Mines from 1975-1984. In 1985 he started working security for the West Virginia Secretary of State Office where he retired in 1987. Visitation Wednesday, January 23, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 PM and Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 11:00 AM to time of service at 1:00PM at Davis Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Michael Holyfield and Reverend Richard Settles officiating.
