Rosalee (Dalton) Born

Rosalee (Dalton) Born, age 91, of Reedsville, WV, entered into eternal rest, on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at her home surrounded by loving family. 

She was born December 7, 1931, in Reedsville, WV, on the family farm; a daughter of the late Dewey and Inez Dalton.  

Rosalee was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church.  In addition to being a homemaker she also worked at the Morgan Shirt Factory, and the Colshire Pajama Factory.  She also worked side-by-side on the family farm with her late husband, of 58 years, Robert E. Born, who passed in 2007.  

She is survived by: two children, Robert W. Born and wife Valinda Joy of Reedsville, WV, Althea Renee Plum and husband Dennis of Tunnelton, WV; eight grandchildren: Walter, Amanda, Jeremy, Dale, Rob, Ange, Brian, and Ben; and eight great-grandchildren; sister: Dixie Lucas and step-sister: Viva Mitchell, both of Ohio; and son-in-law: George Shaffer of Reedsville.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by: one daughter Deborah Lynn Shaffer in 2001; one step-brother, Herman “Bud” Dalton; and five sisters: Sylvia Dalton, Margie Dalton, Dorothy Dalton, Delores Kennedy, and Roxie Manion. 

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home, Reedsville, WV, on Wednesday, January 18th, 2023, from 2 – 6:00 PM., with the funeral service commencing immediately after the visitation at 6:00 PM.  Pastor John Brosky and Pastor Teresa Prince of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church will be officiating.   Interment will be Thursday, January 19th at 10:00 AM in the Morgan Memorial Park, Reedsville.
