Ruth Elizabeth (Mullen) Metheny

Ruth Elizabeth Metheny, 92, of Reedsville, West Virginia went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 19th, 2021. Ruth was born on March 5th, 1928 in Baltimore, Maryland a daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Mullen of Rosedale, MD. Ruth was the oldest of six sisters and one brother who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Edward Metheny of Reedsville. She is preceded in death by her beloved Son, Edward C Metheny, his wife Anna survives and resides in Masontown. She is survived by her son Joseph Keenan and spouse Eileen of Westminster, Maryland; daughter, Linda Shaffer and spouse Bernie of Reedsville, WV; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Ruth was a member of the Reedsville United Methodist Church and Faith Christian Fellowship of Morgantown. Ruth enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with them, especially during the holidays. Ruth found her greatest comfort and joy in Reading God's word many times a day and in prayer. Memorial services will be held at a future date with Reverend Jeff Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Terra Alta, West Virginia.
