Sharon Lee Kees

Sharon Lee Kees, 83, of Arthurdale, passed away, Tuesday May 14, 2024, at Kingwood Healthcare Center. She was born, July 13, 1940 in Arthurdale, WV, a daughter of the late Kenneth Otis and Edna Thelma (Osborne) Kees. She grew up in the very first Arthurdale Home (E-2), which her parents purchased in 1942 from the first homesteader Arnold Malone.

Sharon was a devoted housewife and mother.

She attended County College of Morris in Randolph, New Jersey where she made Dean's List and was a member of Pi Theta Kappa honors society.

Sharon wrote poetry which was published and she often read at poetry slams. While at County College of Morris she was the editor of the school literary magazine.

Surviving relatives:

daughter, Elizabeth Anne Fretz; 2 sons, David Paul Gventer and John Nathan Gventer

Grandchildren: Gabby, Abby, Rachel, Grace, Ryan, Peter, Isabelle, and Hannah Gventer and Elizabeth Franklin Fretz

Friends may call at the Morgan Funeral Home in Reedsville on Saturday, May 18th, 2024, Noon - 2:00 PM the time of Funeral Services with Rev. David D. Spence officiating. Interment will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Reedsville.
