Shirley Ann Cartwright

Shirley Ann Cartwright, 77 of Arthurdale, WV, formerly of Newburg went to be with the lord Monday, April 1, 2013 at Rosewood Nursing Home with family by her side. She was born January 15, 1936 in Keyser, WV, daughter of the late Charles S and Dorothy M Moreland Nines. Shirley graduated from Newburg High School in 1953. She retired in 1997 from the Preston County Board of Education as a Secretary with over 30 years of service. Over that time, she worked at Newburg Elementary, Newburg High School, Preston County Educational Center and Preston High School. Shirley was a member of the Birdscreek Christian Evangelical Church, served as Treasurer, Secretary and was very active, and was a pillar of the church. She loved to cook and spend time with family and friends. Shirley is survived by her loving husband, James Clifford Cartwright Sr. whom she married on Sept. 6, 1953, two sons, James Clifford Cartwright Jr. and companion Sue Bolyard, Birdscreek, Paul Wayne Cartwright and wife Tina, Fairmont; three granddaughters, Sherri Vazquez and husband Jose, Grafton, April Cartwright and companion Thomas J Shahan, Tunnelton and Angel Cartwright Lynskey and husband Adam, Columbus, OH; seven great grandchildren, Andre, Alex, Tyra, Bella, Colton, Peyton and Ashley; one brother, John S Nines and wife Sybil, Mentor, OH, several special nieces, nephews and her wonderful church family. Family and friends will be received at Bolyard Funeral Home, 79 Morgantown Ave. Newburg, WV, Wednesday, April 3, 2013 from 5-8 pm, Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 2-8 pm and Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Christian Evangelical Church in Birdscreek from 10 am until time of service at 12 Noon with Pastor Robert Anderson and Pastor Carl Trickett officiating. Interment will follow at the Arthurdale Cemetery. Memorial Donation can be made in Shirley memory to the Christian Evangelical Church 8160 North Mountaineer Highway Newburg, WV. 26410.
