Virginia R. Barrett

Virginia R. Barrett, of Lost Creek passed peacefully on May 27, 2013 in her 79th year. She was born October 17, 1933 in Clarksburg; daughter of the late Curtis E. Hickman and Edith Bates Hickman. She is survived by her companion of 35 years, Arthur Burkhammer; five children, Charles Hickman (Lillian) of West Milford; Ronald Welch (Brenda) of Lost Creek; Celestine Merkel of Clarksburg; Ruth Ann Ledsome of Clarksburg; Virgil Barrett of West Milford; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; special great-grandchild Erisson Lee Welch; two step sons, Roger Harper (Chandra) of Lost Creek; Mike Harper of Lost Creek; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Rebecca Ramsey; a brother, Donald "Jeep" Hickman; a sister, Phyllis Cyphers, and a grandson Ronald Lee Welch II. Virginia loved to work puzzles and read. She had a kind heart and never knew a stranger and would not hesitate to help someone with a meal or a place to sleep. Friends will be received at Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM; service Friday, May 31, 2013 at 10:00AM in the Davis Funeral Home Chapel.
