Wayne Miller Obituary

Wayne Lee Miller, 88, of Bruceton Mills, WV, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 20, 2026, with his family by his side. He was born on January 7, 1938, in Cuzzart, WV, a son of the late Junior and Freda Miller.

Wayne was a hardworking man who dedicated much of his life to his work and to providing for his family. He was a skilled mechanic and welder, and he also worked as an equipment operator and truck driver. Wayne and his wife, Dorothy, built their coal mining and trucking business together, a reflection of their shared dedication and strong work ethic. Later in life, he purchased a farm where he raised Limousin cattle and imported European horses. No matter how hard he worked, Wayne always made time to sit down for dinner with his family each night. His life was a reflection of perseverance, independence, and love, and he leaves behind a legacy of hard work, strong family roots, and memories that will be cherished for generations.

He is survived by one daughter, Diana Miller of Bruceton Mills; one son, Stephen Miller of Bruceton Mills; six grandchildren, Stephenie Miller, Sandra Miller Fabiano, Steven (Gabrielle) Miller, Garth (Delaney) Miller, Mychal (Kayla) Miller, and Elizabeth Dessie Miller; ten beloved great-grandchildren; one treasured great-grandson; one brother, Randy (Betty) Miller of Bruceton Mills; two sisters, Debbie (Tom) McKey of Terra Alta and Judy Clark of Valley Point; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine McElroy of Bruceton Mills and Bonnie Miller, of Terra Alta; one brother-in-law, Robert Readd of Valley Point; his furry companion, Buster, who stayed faithfully by his side until the end; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Dorothy Reckart Miller; a precious son, Michael Miller; two brothers, Ronald Miller and Benny Miller; and three sisters, Peggy Reckart, Rosemary Readd, and Margie Miller.

The family would like to extend their special thanks to Brian and his wife Connie, Peggy Casteel Gunnoe, Jamie Burns, and Tammy Reckart for their helpfulness.  Wayne’s final wish of cremation will be honored. A memorial service for Wayne and Dorothy will be held at a later date.
