Wilford Ray Jennings

Wilford Ray Jennings, age 83, of Route 1, Thornton, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012, at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born in Evansville, August 19, 1928, a son of the late Alton Jennings and Ada M. (Stewart) Heldreth His wife of 65 years, Hallie L. Jennings, passed away April 24, 2012. They were united in marriage April 5, 1947. Mr. Jennings enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, just enjoying life. He was retired from the B&O Railroad where he worked as a brakeman and conductor. Surviving are: one son Stanley Ray Jennings and wife Patricia, of St. Augustine, FL; two daughters, Janette Jennings Payne and husband Tim, of Volga, WV; and Debra Kay Jennings, of Clarksburg, WV; four grandchildren, Cassandra Denise Jennings, of Jacksonville, FL, Clandra Jennings Herring and husband Scott, of Atlanta, GA, Summer Violet Jennings, of Clarksburg, WV, Erin Luzader Bartley and husband Jeremy, of Covington, VA; five great grandchildren, Dillon Scott Herring, Arianna Kay, Courtney Louise, and Tyler Ray Jennings, and Levi Bartley; one brother, Willard Jennings and wife Mary Lou, of Thornton; one sister, Vivian Nestor Pennington, of Grafton; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Theresa Lynn Luzader. Graveside service will be conducted Thursday, at 11:00 a.m. August 9, 2012, at Woodsdale Memorial Park. Interment will follow. Rev. Jimmy Johnson officiating.
